Le 25 juin 2018, PAUL (Bagatelle) une entreprise française spécialisée dans la vente de pains, de viennoiseries et de pâtisseries, dans un communiqué tenait à informer sa fidèle clientèle qu'aucune boisson alcoolisée n’est offerte en vente et que tous leurs produits sont garantis SANS ALCOOL. Tout en remerciant leurs fidèles clients de leur confiance.
Mais voilà, suite à cette publication, les consommateurs ont réagi en exigeant des réponses concernant des pâtisseries spécifiques tels que la Forêt noire, les cannelés...
Le personnel de la franchise Paul sur place, faute de Certificat Halal ne pouvant leur garantir des pâtisseries sans alcool.
Un communiqué sous forme de commentaire daté de ce lundi 9 juillet, sous la publication a continué à alimenter la polémique.

Cette franchise fait partie d'une des entreprises appartenant à la "girlfriend" de l'homme d'affaires, Rakesh Gooljaury. La fille de l'opticien Farouk Hossen qui a également sa boutique de lingerie fine au Passenger Terminal du Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport.
Rakesh Gooljaury opérait sous l'ancien régime avec son ancienne partenaire d'affaires, Nandanee Soornack au Airway Coffee à l'aéroport de Plaisance.

At the outset we wish to express our humble gratitude for an overwhelming welcome to PAUL in Mauritius. We value you all and a big thank you for patronizing us.
Yes indeed there were certain products with alcohol, which represented about 1% of all the references we offer. Understanding the religious sentiments and other personal preferences that an individual may have, as a procedure, guests opting for these products were made aware of alcohol content in those very few products. We are grateful that a substantial number of our customers seems to have acknowledged and appreciated this gesture of ours. We pledge to continue with the same policy of transparency that has been our hallmark till now in the interests of our discerning guests and in the furtherance of a long term sustainable and ethical business.
We maintain procurements for all our supplies from quality vendors especially meats which are procured from reputed local vendors on the Island and that are halal certified. We do not serve pork or its derivatives in our restaurant. Hygiene & food safety remain our prime area of focus as we are dedicated to provide our guests quality food. We are also seeking services from experts to chalk our way forward towards further strengthening our commitment on this subject.
To clear any misconceptions, we value and respect sentiments of all our guests coming from a variety of backgrounds. It shall be our endeavor to respond to their expectations as well.
We also take this opportunity to thank all our guests for their constructive feedback on our service at Bagatelle and wish to inform you that soon we will have new PAUL outlets coming up at Floreal in So’Flo and at Grand Baie La Croisette.
