Heart wrenching to see the 2.5 M or so refugee crisis slip into Eastern Europe. Our heart goes out to the helpless & countless distressed people. However a little dementia, or some disease, must have settled in the minds of the media.

We do recall that the trickling of refugees from equally helpless Syrians, Afghans, Iraqis, Somalians, Sudanese crossing borders some 4 years ago were met with a barrage of: walls and more walls. Did the media already forget the talk that some of these same ‘welcoming countries’ had imposed on Europe like ‘quota now, c’est pas possible on n’en peut plus’, ‘we cannot take so much in’, ‘we’ll end up having to bring up walls’, ‘Greece needs to step up and stop the trickling in or sanctions will be imposed’.

Up and, until Angela Merkel, came to her senses, and told everyone to take a chill pill, and Germany did it’s part, that they (western countries) saw refugees from Africa and the Middle East like pure cattle class. Such blatant selective forgetfulness and poor coverage of the media is shocking, filled with poor journalistic ethics, refusing to, question policies and intent of countries, that are to all purpose, plainly and overtly racist.

They don’t even try to hide the double standards and no questions are ever asked. Recently, there were already reports of African & Indian students being treated like second class citizens until their own counties settled scores, but all these, hide a deeper euro centric perversity, a deeper neo-colonial persistent reality.

The lack of support to inhabitants of the ‘other’ destroyed lands, and refugees from Yemen, Syria, as we remain wholly appalled for the Ukrainian children and families, should be connected with a very thick red line. The European and American media and ‘welcoming countries’, do at times feel like some Hollywood award committee; elitist, racist, shortsighted and plainly demented !
