Grown very tired of the soi disant vehement animal lovers on Facebook that express their passionate love for animal rights, whilst sipping green tea in their salons.
Truth is this is full time fake arm-chair activism. Facebook gives a false illusory sense of social participation and connectedness.
No sir or madam, you are not really doing ‘activism’. Activism is to really sleep with the subject being oppressed, break bread with them, get hit by Israeli soldiers, or smell lachrymose, not to sit behind your expensive apple or Dell computer and tele-guiding your outrage. Or going ‘live’.
What does this even mean, going ‘live’. This false sense of outrage is pointless and drives no serious points. We have been castrated by social media and the false sense it creates of connectedness. Ask Cesar Chavez about activism, and you will see that in addition to the soft side there is a hard core ‘sweat’ side to it.
The Nobel prize for peace Mr K Satyarti, talked about his activism, he did say he got sick of his empty self-outrage so he felt he needed to drive to the oppressed kids and save them from the mouths of hell, and for this he got lahti marks, there were no Bollywood actors nor songs and dance.
So let’s not pretend we are starting a ‘spring revolution’ using a tool that actually serves the marketing purpose of evenly spying on all of us.
No animal were hurt in this paragraph nor will they be saved whilst you operate from the comfort of your living room ! Please stop !
