It is only in dictatorships that you find the Prime Minister/ President abusing a hugely defective criminal and justice system in order to hide the truth, and to simultaneously harass and ill treat those who oppose him. In Mauritius, we have the champion of the world in the number of complaints that the Prime Minister makes to his zombie nominee, the Commissioner of Police.
And, as if on cue, serious crimes vanish, domestic violence has been resolved, rapes/sexual assaults/robberies, etc no longer exist, and our faithful gablous have only one urgent crime to deal with: sort out the bastard who has accused the Prime Minister of stealing, of being a cretin, of being still confused about which item to wear first, his underpants or his trousers, and fer lenket serier lor tou dimoune ki pa riye kan li fer so ban 'jokes' vreman en fesse....
