THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY : IS IT WORTH IT ?
Is this the way to conduct the affairs of the National Assembly ? We were shocked at such arrogance and callous attitude towards the opposition. We have never seen something like that before. It was a premeditated move to sabotage the PNQ on the "Greylisting of Mauritius" which they knew was going to give them a hard time and bad publicity especially for the new Minister of Finance and the new governor of the Central Bank
They are making a mockery of the National Assembly !
They are making a mockery of the electoral petition contesting the election of some the members of the NA !
With a mere 37% support from voters, we thought that they will be making an effort to win over the disappointed voters, but we were wrong, they are not likely to show any commitment to democratic norms and ideals and governance that is participatory, consensus-oriented, accountable, transparent, responsive, effective and efficient, equitable, inclusive and follows the rule of law.
What's the point of the opposition going back such a NA to be ruled out everytime by a loud and uncouth Speaker if it does not have a clear stategy ?
The opposition, strong of its 63% support from voters, should meet its supporters to decide on an appropriate strategy to tackle this regime before it is too late.
